くくのち Kukunochi
Why don't you try to make chopsticks by yourself during your stay in Hida. It's nice as a souvenir of your trip to Japan.
You can choose material from among some kind of woods (Oak, Cherry, Walnut or Japanese cypress). Also you can carve your name on it. Usually it takes about one hour to finish even if it's the first time to use the planer for you.
